Hózhó
Hózhó, a Diné (Navajo) word that describes finding balance. A part of the San Juan County Economic Development and Visitor Services mission is to develop interagency collaboration. We strive to grow economic opportunities with the communities and our partners.
San Juan County Economic Development works with businesses investing in San Juan County providing training, resources, contacts, and programs; with the purpose to support businesses, improve operations, and employment opportunities.
Collaborative partners with San Juan County include Local governments, Chapters, Utah State University, Economic Development Administration (EDA), Southeast Utah Association of Local Governments (SEUALG), USU Blanding Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Utah's Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED), Economic Development Corporation of Utah (EDCUtah), and additional development partners.
The Future is Bright
In 2017/2018 we compiled a Strategic Plan for Economic Development, in this plan we identified five key areas of focus for the next ten years. These key areas include broadband, transportation, diversification of the economy and workforce, business expansion and retention, as well as a celebration of culture and heritage. We believe this is a living and working document, it is our commitment to work with our community partners and annually re-visit and fine-tune our plan.
We invite you to take a minute and review our plan here.
If we've left you wondering who we are, we invite you to watch our video This is San Juan.
Below is an interactive map developed and designed by the Governor's Office of Economic Development to illustrate the infrastructure in San Juan County.
