San Juan County Economic Development and Visitor Services Board Vacancies

The San Juan County Economic Development and Visitor Services (EDVS) Office is in search of board members to serve on both the County Economic Development (CED) Board as well as on the Tourism Tax Advisory Board (TTAB). Both boards serve as advisory boards to the San Juan County Commission.

The CED board primary functions include overseeing the use and allocation of the Rural County Grant Program, funding applied for annually by the San Juan County EDVS Office. Additionally, the board supports the review and advisement of the San Juan County Strategic Economic Development Plan, as well as the development of a mission of business retention and recruitment. The board is looking for one (1) new board member, to serve a three (3) year term. Board members should be San Juan County residents and preference will be given to applicants who are business owners of a San Juan County business.

The directive of the TTAB is to advise the San Juan County EDVS Office and the San Juan County Commissioners on the use of the allocated tourism marketing funds. The board is in search of four (4) new board members to serve 4-year and 2-year terms. Members of the board must be owners and/or managers of San Juan County businesses that pay transient room tax (TRT) and/or restaurant tax (TRCC).

To apply for either board, a letter of intent as well as a resume is requested. The letter of intent should include the following: statement of intent to serve on board of interest, statement of qualifications, any additional areas of expertise that would support your tenure as a board member.

All submissions on intent are due no later than Friday, December 18, 2020 by 5PM MST. The San Juan County Commission will make a final appointment at the Tuesday, January 5th, 2021 Commission meeting.
