America’s Small Business Development Center Utah is holding a Small Business Workshop and Listening Session on Tuesday March 16th from 12n to 2pm. Jim Herrin, Director of the Salt Lake Region Small Business Development Center reached out with information on the workshop.
In addition to tax advice on the COVID-19 funds businesses may have been granted, Small Business Essentials will be discussed by the experts. Hear directly from the IRS on estimated taxes, self-employment tax, withholding tools for employers and more.
A list of other topics will be discussed that will provide more than just information on dealing with taxes resulting from COVID-19 funding. Those include:
Interacting with IRS: Hear about examination and collection processes and what methods work best for dealing with the organization. .
Appeals: Hear about the appeals fast track settlement program and collection due process.
Being and Employer 101: Get an overview of employment taxes with a discussion of employee vs independent contractor rules and the Trust Fund Recovery Penalty.
And this is a listening session too. IRS representatives will be asking for your input on how the IRS can improve service to small business owners.
